Only Reel I use
I have tried several famous name reels. The drag on the M2a from The Fly Shop is wonderful for big Rainbows, Cutthroat and Browns as well as Large Mouth Bass. You can spend more, but you won’t get any more for freshwater fishing.

Fly reel
It is a great product for the price. Never any issues. Quality make. I own several with spare spools. Would recommend to anyone. Only reason not 5 star is the weight. Really not heavy or bulky but many more lighter but not for this price point.

M2a reel
I recently paired this reel with some Scientific Angler Frequency 5wt line and a new CGR 7ft glass rod….it’s an old school look but man it’s smooth. I love this reel. Sure, it’s not fancy, but it’s tight and the drag is amazing. I’ve already convinced a buddy to get one, and I’ll be picking a few more for myself and as gifts. Trust me, you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a quality reel, unless you’re just trying to impress someone.
