Product Description
This is, perhaps, the most versatile trout fishing fly line made. Added floating texture on the line’s tip keeps it riding like a cork, and the shooting texture on the slightly longer weight forward section reduces friction, adds distance, and makes it a lot easier to mend nymph rigs or toss streamers. SA added AST Plus slickness agent to smooth the passage through the guides and extend the line’s usable life. These lines are half a size heavy to compensate for today’s modern fast action fly rods. Unquestionably, the new Amplitude floating fly lines are the best in the sport!
- Features the revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive for superior shooting ability and increased durability
- Floating Texture on the tip section for the ultimate in flotation; it simply keeps dry flies floating longer
- Shooting Texture running line delivers longer casts, thanks to a reduction in friction
- Extremely versatile general-purpose taper designed for most freshwater species; an excellent line for trout, grayling, panfish, bass, carp, steelhead, salmon, and pike
- Made a half-size heavy to load fast-action rods, but works well with a variety of rod actions
- Extended head length for long-distance casts and superior mending ability

Amplitude Fly Line
This line is slick, and floats well. I did not notice, in casting it, the increased 1/2 line weight that it purports to have. The line is a bid noisy, when false casting, due to its ribbed design. Time will tell whether this line is worth the $50 premium in cost over a regular Scientific Angler fly line. So far, I am pleased with it.
