California Fly Fisher Magazine

Founded in 1992 by editor and publisher Richard Anderson, California Fly Fisher has been an advisor for angling adventures, a teacher of techniques, and a storyteller of the diverse and vibrant world of California’s rivers and fish for over three decades. Richard published his last issue in October 2023 with an eye on retirement and the pursuit of other interests.  

Tracey Diaz, a seasoned marketing and conservation professional, took over as owner/publisher and relaunched the beloved title in both print and digital formats in July of 2024. By Tracey’s side is Editor-at-Large George Revel, a Master Certified Casting Instructor, and a three-time international fly-casting champion and Creative Director David Dines. The team is thrilled and honored to carry the heritage forward while injecting a fresh perspective on the unique culture, the tight-knit community, and the remarkable individuals who define fly fishing in California.
