Product Description
This incredible material is turning the heads of fly tiers like never before. This brush-style material has a cloth core and fibers that have incredible movement. It is applied to the hook like chenille. Once put in the water, the material fibers come alive, unlike anything we have seen. You can trim the fibers material to any length, and to get the most movement fray it out with a piece of Velcro. Great for leeches, buggers, and streamers. The Micro version is ideal for nymphs and damsels.
- Perfect for leeches, buggers, or anything thing else you can think of

Swimming Hackle
I made some good looking leeches. Material was as advertised. Make sure you brush the heck out of it for best results. Do not be afraid to give it some weight.

Good stuff
Great stiff whipping up a bunch of marabou leeches.

Fly Tying
Buggy-looking for sure, but not a direct replacement for feather hackle. We'll see what the fish think...

Jay Fairs translucent swimming hackle
This material is fantastic. One of my most productive flies is Zack Thurmand’s stillwater swimming hackle leech—check out his video on tying it. My best color combo’s are brown tail with olive under wrap and brown over wrap of the swimming hackle and olive tail with olive under wrap and burnt orange over wrap. Make sure to use marabou plumes for the tail as Zack says. Fished with intermediate sinking line, they are killers.

Best leech material!
Nothing adds subtle movement to a leech body like the translucent swimming hackle. Make sure you hit it with the plastic loop-side of some Velcro to open up the tri-lobal fibers and get the best undulation in the water. This out-fishes any other leech or bugger pattern I throw just by varying color and size. Really wish they still made the Brown Olive color. Dear TFS, if there is any hope of getting the Brown Olive back in the rotation please let me know!

Jay Fair’s swimming hackle
I love this material. It’s so easy to use to tie leech patterns like Zack’s swimming leech pattern. Hopefully The Fly Shop will stock all three sizes of it—right now the medium length isn’t listed.

Fair Products
Hoping you guys keep the Fair products inventoried. Once they are gone so will some of your customers go.

Amazing movement
I was just up fishing our famous still water here in Colorado, Spinney Mountain Res., with my newly tied swimming leaches with the J. Fair translucent hackle. The stuff was so vibrant and alive in the water I wasn't surprised when the big rainbows started pounding it. The 24-incher I caught fed all 8 of my buddies that night for dinner!

Better than hackle or dubbing
When brushed out, has more movement in water than hackle. Only wish there were more colors and patterns(grizzly and multiple colored).
