One of the most popular and important hooks for tying small mayfly nymphs, caddis pupa, midges, or scuds. This hook being very stout can also be used for eggs patterns and is it very rare to have one of these bend out on big fish. Sometimes tying standard patterns like Birds Nest or Princes give the fly a unique look that fish do not see as often. When in doubt tying mayflies or caddis pupa, use a 2457. Great hook
I was apprehensive at first. I have found over the years that higher cost usually means a superior hook, no so with these hooks. I tied several versions of the Holy Grail Caddis emerger last week. Fishing a local tail water section I hooked and landed a 24" brown trout. Hook stayed sharp and did not bend. I will buy more!
