This fly performs beyond all expectations! I fish this fly after a heavy rain when the water is high and off colored, but it works the best when fished during an actual downpour. It drives my buddies nuts because i use 3x and sometimes 2x tippet which they dont even have in their vest! LOL!! I have used different colors and sizes but without a doubt the black size 6 works best for me. Tight lines everyone, Dan

This is a very well made fly that does not fall apart after catching a few trout.This fly is not an exact match for anything living in Ct trout streams but is an excellent general representation of big stonefly nymphs and hellgrammites. I love this fly at first light but also works very wel thru the day as well. Trout eat this fly with extreme aggresivness when other more exact imitations are having limited success. Great Fly
I use the black in size 6...at first i thought this fly was a little to big but i was proven wrong. This fly out fishes more articulated patterns hands down, as i have caught browns, rainbows and some nice brookies with them...very good quality and nicely tied. I really like to fish this fly for the first hour of light, but i used it during the day with very good results too
