Bamboo dates to Winston’s founding in 1929, when Robert Winther and Lew Stoner began innovating with the material, and eventually patented the hollow-fluting process they still use today. The craftsmanship is legendary. The performance is something every angler should experience. Bamboo is part of Winston’s DNA.
Bamboo rods aren’t for everyone, but they do hold a significant space in the history of fly fishing and Winston has been doing it for almost 100 years. All of these rods are made right here in the USA.
Bamboo offers a slower, simpler fishing experiene where you feel the rod and connect with tradition. Of course, bamboo is expensive, and it’s not an everyday rod.
