A newer style hook that's popularity has risen the last couple of years for tying mayfly nymphs, midges, caddis pupa, and eggs. This is also a great stinger hook used for smaller articulated summer steelhead flies. This point is much sharper than a standard scud style hook and is slightly heavier and stronger than similar styles of hooks. Most of our custom tied Zebra Midges are on this hook. I use the TFS2500 (sizes 10-18) short shank wide gap hook for all my foam flies such as hoppers and flying ants. Good solid hookups when fishing these flies for Cutthroats in the high mountain lakes and streams here in Colorado. As an additional note, I also like the TFS7258 (sizes 8-1/0) stainless steel hook when tying those big saltwater flies used by my daughter down in the gulf off the coast of Florida. TFS service is great as they respond quickly to phone calls and email messages and the online store is quick and easy to navigate..... Thanks again for your prompt service.
