About The Authors:
Dec Hogan’s passion for steelhead angling and the natural world is a constant part of his being. He’s equally passionate about sharing his deep affection and hard-won knowledge with others. Hogan has been pursuing steelhead at a high level for over 30 years, and throughout the pursuit has mastered the art of tying beautiful, highly functional flies that catch fish and fishers. Hogan’s thoughtful writing and superb photography have appeared in numerous books, magazines articles and the internet for the last three decades. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed book A Passion for Steelhead. He and his wife Amy reside in Midway, Utah.
Absorbed by fishing from the moment he laid cast with rod and fly, Marty Howard is a driven soul. His first steelhead fly produced at the vise, a California wet fly, prompted a lifelong consuming addiction. His desire to master every aspect of the sport has yielded opportunities throughout the fly fishing experience. Skilled in the fabrication of both fly and rod, Howard’s quality of design and artistry is top-tier. His passion for the two-handed rod has taken him all over the world in pursuit of anadromous beauties. His early goal to attain expertise in macro photography is clearly evident within the pages of this book. Howard is a steelhead fanatic. He and his wife Christine reside in Heber City, Utah.
